Jakne nosimo u raznim prilikama, kada je vreme hladnije, kada su temperaturne razlike između dana i noći prilične pa nam treba dodatan sloj odeće za uveče, kada se bavimo određenim aktivnostima na otvorenom u kojima treba dodatna zaštita, ali i kada želimo prilagoditi odevnu kombinaciju svome tipu tela, možda sakriti po koji nedostatak, ne pokazati ruke ili slično. Naravno, jakne su odličan odevni predmet za uokviriti odevnu kombinaciju pa se nose i samo radi stilskog odabira. Jaknice dolaze u različitim veličinama.
